YORKTOWN, IN – LifeStream Services is East Central Indiana’s Dementia Friends Administrator and is seeking community partners to join them in leading the efforts to make Delaware County a safer and more welcoming place for people living with dementia and their caregivers.
Dementia Friends Indiana is an outreach of Dementia Friendly America. The initiative seeks to educate communities about dementia, break down the stigma surrounding dementia, and implement practical changes that make life easier to navigate for those with dementia and for their loved ones.
LifeStream has assisted in helping over 20 organizations become Dementia Friends in Richmond, Connersville, and Anderson. The one-hour information session to become a Dementia Friend can be done virtually or in-person. Businesses or organizations who are interested in becoming Dementia Friends and helping LifeStream lead the initiative should contact Angie Jenkins, Outreach Coordinator, at 765-759-1121 or ajenkins@lifestreaminc.org.
