Adult Protective Services
The Adult Protective Services (APS) Program was established to investigate reports and provide intervention and protection to vulnerable adults who are victims of abuse, neglect, or exploitation. APS field investigators operate out of the offices of county prosecutors throughout the state. East Central Indiana’s field office is located in Anderson in Madison County. It serves Blackford, Delaware, Randolph, Henry, Madison, Grant, and Jay counties. Call Adult Protective Services at 765-641-9585 for more information.
Nursing Home Ombudsman
The ombudsman helps in resolving issues involving long-term care facilities. The state program can make sure your disputes are handled appropriately. Call LifeStream at 800-589-1121 and ask to speak with the ombudsman.
Legal Advice
Indiana Legal Services at 800-869-0212 provides advice and counsel when older persons and their families are faced with financial or legal concerns. The service is offered through a donation basis and is supported in part by LifeStream Services. For more information, visit the association’s website at www.indianalegalservices.org.
Community Assessment Survey for Older Adults (CASOA)
The Community Assessment Survey for Older Adults (CASOA) was most recently administered throughout Indiana in 2022. The survey seeks to identify community strengths to support successful aging, articulate the specific needs of older adults in the community, estimate contributions made by older adults to the community, and develop estimates and projections of resident need in the future.
