Imagine you’re sitting alone at home on a cold winter day. You don’t get may visitors. While the world prepares for holiday gatherings, you’re feeling more isolated and alone than ever. When suddenly you hear a knock on your door. It’s an AngelWish volunteer coming to deliver a gift! The kind gesture and the smile from a stranger fills your heart with joy and the knowledge that you are never truly alone.
This is the impact the AngelWish program has on older adults who are isolated and alone during the holidays. This year’s program impacted 1,000 older adults and people with disabilities across East Central Indiana with deliveries by 58 volunteers. AngelWish recipients received a pre-packaged gift box including sweet and safe holiday items such as an emergency night light, emergency kit, pill dispenser, and holiday treats.
This program was made possible by the generous contributions from our community. We received 142 individual donations and 25 corporate sponsorships. Over $25,000 was raised to benefit older adults and people with disabilities.
