LifeStream’s Fall Festival for Seniors a Great Success

Over 200 individuals joined LifeStream Services at the Treaty Line Pioneer Village to celebrate older adults at the annual Fall Festival for Seniors on September 13 and 14. The Festival included an afternoon of activities including a health fair, pontoon boat rides, BINGO, chair volleyball, prizes, craft activities, musical entertainment by Nashville’s Garcia and Scott, as well as delicious treats including donuts, apple cider, and popcorn.

The annual event, previously hosted by the former Area 9 Agency on Aging for over 25 years, was the first held under LifeStream Services. It is LifeStream’s mission to improve the quality of life for people at risk of losing their independence. The festival provided entertainment for all during the community day and the second day designed specifically for those older adults living in nursing and long-term care facilities. The annual Fall Festival allowed older adults from surrounding areas to enjoy a unique afternoon out in their community, as well as spend time with old and new friends.

“The smiles and the appreciation of those who attended the festival is what this is all about. For many of these individuals, just getting out of the house is a real treat, let alone a day at a festival,” Laura Bray, LifeStream’s Volunteer Services Administrator, said of the event.

LifeStream is excited to bring the Fall Festival back next year. Those interested in receiving information about next year’s Fall Festival as planning goes underway next summer should contact Beth Evans, Director of Community Services, by calling
